Enochian Magic

Enochian magic is a system of ceremonial magic based on the evocation and commanding of various spirits. It is based on the 16 th century works of Dr. John Dee and Edward Kelly, who claimed that their information was transferred directly to the various angels. Di-log contained Enochian script, and tables of correspondences that goes with it. He argues that the embrace of the secrets contained in the apocryphal book of Enoch.

Dee and Kelley claimed that they received instructions from the angels, and recorded them. This is recorded at face value most Enochian occult. However, some noted the remarkable similarities with the earlier grimoiric such texts, as we know Heptameron Dee. Doubts surrounding Kelly, in particular, has led many non-occultists to assume the whole system was originally developed by fraud Kelly, in order to obtain additional financial support from Dee. Rediscovery

It is not clear how many Enochian magic was put to the use of Dee and Kelly. Nevertheless, the revival of Enochian magic, Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, Golden Dawn closed aroused great advertising it in modern occultism. Enochian as the operating system is difficult to reconstruct the basis of the manuscript, as the collection of Sir Hans Sloane in the British Museum, and the modern occult organizations have tried to make it usable. Aleister Crowley, who worked with them and wrote, Enochian magic extensively, largely contributed to its relatively widespread.
