Parker Brothers

Parker Brothers
Do you beleive that parker brothers ouija boards are dangerous?

Why or Why not?

I do not recommend Ouija boards because of its’ potential for being dangerous. I have been using tools of divination for 28 years and I won’t touch a Ouija Board.

The modern Ouija Board is the combination of two tools used for scrying. The first is a wheel made up of the letters of the alphabet. The second is a glass, usually a wine glass which is inverted and placed in the middle. Scrying is a form of divination–and divination is simply connecting to the Divine–which is not dangerous when you know what you are doing.

Ouija boards became popular in the mid-1800’s, when spiritualism and channeling were at the height of fashion. In 1891 a patent was granted to Elijah J Bond on the first modern Ouija Board. The following year the rights to the Ouija Board were purchased by William Fuld. In 1966 the Parker Brothers purchased the rights to the Ouija Board. My problem with Parker Brothers’ Ouija boards is that many people THINK they are purchasing a game. They are not. They are purchasing a tool of divination. . . and if they are not careful. . . if they don’t know what they are doing. . . it could be dangerous.

Uptown Saturday Night

Uptown Saturday Night

$3.11

The first in a trio of very broad comedies from director Sidney Poitier features Poitier and Bill Cosby as two small-time hustlers always looking for an angle. During a robbery at a swanky nightclub, they are relieved of their wallets, only to find later that one of them had a lottery ticket that came up a winner. The chase is on as they scour the city to find their prize, along the way running up…

George Orwell’s classic tale of totalitarianism, 1984, was the inspiration for a project that David Bowie hoped would further solidify his standing as a rock visionary. Bowie was a natural artist to helm a musical companion to Orwell’s allegory, since his own music exhibits an innate alienation. The concept ultimately broke down, but the music didn’t. “Rebel Rebel” has become a rock staple, while …

Thelonious Monk - Straight No Chaser

Thelonious Monk – Straight No Chaser

$10.80

This exemplary documentary about seminal jazz pianist and composer Thelonious Monk reaps the benefits of multiple blessings, including the skilled editorial hand of director Charlotte Zwerin and the patronage of executive producer (and erstwhile jazz pianist) Clint Eastwood. Most vital is the use of extensive 1968 footage, shot by Michael and Christian Blackwood, documenting the sometimes moo…

Road to Wellville [VHS]

Road to Wellville [VHS]

$14.95

This wrong-headed adaptation of the very funny (and scatological) novel by T. Coraghessan Boyle was written and directed by Alan Parker, who doesn’t seem to have much of a clue. It’s not a botch, just a movie that hammers its efforts at humor too hard. The focus is split between three story lines: the life of cereal tycoon John Kellogg (Anthony Hopkins with buck teeth), who has created a health sp…

Cannibal! The Musical [VHS]

$2.94

Alferd Packer was the only man in the United States ever convicted of cannibalism–what better hero for fellow Coloradan and future South Park creator Trey Parker to celebrate in music? Blue-eyed and boyish Parker was still in college when he wrote, directed, composed the songs for, and took the starring role as the innocent young Packer in this film, giving a gee- whiz performance as an ambitious…

Marx Brothers At the Circus [VHS]

Marx Brothers At the Circus [VHS]

$7.48

Hollywood’s golden year of 1939 found the Marx Brothers At the Circus, up to their usual mischief if not their usual standards. It’s a lesser effort but still a rollicking good time, casting Groucho, Chico, and Harpo as the would-be saviors of a financially troubled circus. Of course, Groucho gets the lion’s share of zingers as crackpot lawyer J. Cheever Loophole (especially when sparring with his…
